John,
Thank you for your thoughtful response.
A big reason why I elude to our current President and his moral shortcomings is because I believe the unwavering support of him from the so-called evangelical sector is what has caused a lot of people to deconstruct their faith in the first place. They could not reconcile what they believed with the person who was being hailed as a champion for evangelicals. I’m not saying that Hillary Clinton was a pillar of morality either. In fact, I say nothing about her because she was not elected President, and she does not have the unwavering support of evangelicals, which has caused this influx of deconstructionism among former evangelicals, some of whom have lost their faith entirely.
The tag of “Christianity” is included primarily because those who are going through this period of deconstruction are Christians themselves, and thus, this post would be of interest to those who are searching for such articles.
This particular post doesn’t share my testimony because that is not the point of the post. I have fully put my trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, and that is very important to me in my vocation and calling as a pastor in a local congregation.
Grace and peace to you, friend.
